Glam on

It’s officially party season you say? Hurrah!! That means it’s time to get our glad rags on and kick up our heels from now until January 1st… enter panic induced Cinderella syndrome. What. To. Wear? Well don’t worry Cinders I’m here to help with your sartorial indecision, you can think of me as your own Fairy Godmother although I’m far more likely to wave a gin filled cocktail your way than cover you with ‘magical’ glitter. We all agree that’s preferable right?

So, let’s begin.

Swildens is a new brand to Feather & Stitch for AW14, we hope you’ve enjoyed their luxurious knits and beautifully tailored shirts as much as we have. Their Licorne dress will be a knockout for Christmas parties. The snakeskin textural pattern on the fabric begs to be touched, it’s a really tactile piece and so simple to accessorise. Add the Billi Bi Varese ankle boots, Swildens leather biker jacket, Denaive pendant and a Leibeskind chain link mini-satchel. For added warmth inbetween party hopping throw on this Becksondergaard scarf.

SwildensLicorneDress_2For a more casual affair try pairing our DL skinny jeans with a gorgeous pair of heels like these from Billi Bi and a demure sheer blouse like this one from Custommade or this one (pictured below) from Maison Scotch.

MaisonScotchBlouseAs for me, I’m yearning for a little bohemian style this festive season which is why I’m swooning over the printed Pyrus mime bird blouse, leno trousers and (wipes the sweat from her brow) the kimono. The fit and feel of these pieces is sublime, they drape beautifully and the colours are at once muted and bright. The kimono with its luscious silk fabric and swishy tassels speaks to me of the by-gone 1920’s when naughty night-time antics and glamour were de rigueur with cocktail hour. I’ll be wearing mine with skin tight leggings this winter and then in spring with wide leg palazzo trousers.

Bobbl Hats – as featured in December’s Vogue

The humble bobble hat has received a rather lovely make-over courtesy of the clever people at Bobbl (not a typo, there is no ‘e’). No doubt you will have noted the rise in popularity of headwear over the last few seasons, I myself love a smart fedora in autumn but when winter starts chaffing my cheeks I want a beanie I can pull down onto my head and cover my ears with. Enter Bobbl; being made from 100% extra fine merino wool the hats are incredibly warm while the oversized raccoon fur pompoms are both brilliantly eye catching and unbelievably soft. Even better still… the colourful pompoms are interchangeable meaning you can coordinate them with your outfit. Genius. See the entire unique collection here.
